Pros

Epic has some of the most dedicated, helpful employees you will ever meet. It's a great first job, because just about everyone at the company is new and looking to meet new friends. People will go out of their way to help you be successful.

Cons

The management is wildly inconsistent. It seems like becoming a manger has more to do with being good at your job than being a good manager. I've worked with a few different team leads, and one of them was not great. I was ready to leave when I just happened to get reassigned to a better one. It can be great, or it can be terrible - you won't know if you're manager's any good until you need help.

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
