Pros

- Epic's Cafeterias are as good as everyone says - The starting salary ($70,000 in 2025) is relatively competitive - The health insurance is pretty good

Cons

- There is no work-life balance in this position, most people in this position will spend over 55 hours working weekly. - There are frequent expectations to exceed even this level for customer work and work related travel. - Your position is largely determined by the customer you work with and Epic's management for that project. If you experience any issues with management (such as overt discrimination[!]) there is very little recourse offered to you. - NONE of the benefits meaningfully accrue unless you stay in Epic for the long term. Ie: You do not get a cent of the 401k match unless you work for 2 years, and then only vest 100% of the match after 5 years. - Epic's training for this position focusses almost entirely on Epic specific information (how to configure Epic, Epic values, etc.) and does not constitute any meaningful growth when applying to other companies. - Epic has reiterated it is planning on simplifying and standardizing implementation - There is poor outlook for this position in the future of Epic.
