Pros

pay is okay at first Starts out about 15 an hour which is a little higher than most maintenance jobs

Cons

everything. Would not wish anyone experience working maintenance at a low income apartment complex. 200 plus units only 2 maintenance guys and 2 office managers. Thats it. Management hate coming on site, a/c plumbers etc, also hate coming on site. why? because its a very poor/high crime rate/run down apartments, have entered many units to fix something and it smells so bad from pets urinating on carpets and the people (a lot) curse you out over the phone on emergency line at night even at 4 am one time. fights break out in the parking lots and even the public pool. One guy got so mad I left the wrong sized air filter as he wasnt home at the time that he hunted us down and harassed us. It's so common that he still lives there with no repercussions as many other residents that have harassed us still also live there. Would not recommend plus not to mention doing renovations/pool maintenance and a lot of other work piled on top for only 2 people to manage.

Pros

Great culture, competitive pay. Leadership really supports and cares about the staff. They try hard to make up for how hard it is to be a property manager and how hard the work is by offering amazing benefits.

Cons

Property Management can be stressful. Residents are not always really nice. It's a lot of work, and they expect you to work hard.

Pros

This company leans on their extensive PTO as a perk.

Cons

This company is mismanaged. Their ethics are questionable and they create a lot of tension within their teams. They put a salary expectation on hourly employees. It was implied on several occasions that I work late into the evening, prioritizing my work over my family, in order to complete menial tasks. There is a disconnect within upper management that prevents true connection or growth within the team. There is also a lack of clear communication. With continued policy changes and restructuring, it can be very difficult to find any semblance of security or confidence in your work. I was also personally spoken down to on several occasions, with the implication that I was unqualified, unintelligent or incapable. It was a distressing work environment that I would not personally recommend.
