Pros

- On-Board training and work standards foster excellent work habits and industry best practices in the areas of documentation, review, and book-keeping - Company mission statement is inspiring - Floor engineers are pleasant to work with

Cons

-Very little design work. Clientele may vary greatly, however, much of the work is monotonous. -Development software faces growing pains while it changes owners, as a result a great deal of time is spent on the phone with support and waiting for patches. -High turn-over rate; 11 employees left over 2 years time. -Management is unstable; the company has endured several company-wide restructuring events to solidify project planning and work delegation. -Upper management is a nightmare to work with. -There is no check or balance to the HR department which is unfortunate because its quite common for the HR department to make inappropriate comments or address private issues without tact or sensitivity. -To improve autonomy, many responsibilities of the project manager have been delegated to the floor engineer -This is not a 40-hour a week job; working the 8AM-5PM shift is frowned upon it's more common to work 9AM-6:45PM on a slow day and 9AM-7:30PM if a deadline is approaching. -Trying to maintain a balance between work and home life is a serious offense; this company is your family and your life from the day you are hired to the day you are fired.

Pros

I can definitively say that this workplace is not for everyone, and that's a good thing. This is how they secure well-being among the employees. There is a general sense of assurance that things will "be okay." In 2025 that is a high bar for an employer clear. This is not a "move fast break things" kind of environment. Yes, there is room for experimentation, but it does not come at the cost of methods or functionality. Employees are rewarded for being proactive, thorough, and prosocial/helpful. It's not enough that work "gets done." The HOW and the methods matter a lot in this workplace. There is an expectation of accountability and the expectation that someone has reviewed your work. That's basically the entire value proposition of their services. They get a 5 rating because as a workplace they make a genuine attempt to provide their workers with a sense of psychological safety and belonging. A lot of workplaces harp on their core values, but it is a consistent point of conversation here for good reason. They're not empty words; these are standards to which people at every level are held accountable. It isn't and never will be a "perfect" workplace, but it's well functioning and clear that they invest in their staff and do their best to retain.

Cons

the 401K vesting schedule is not ideal
