Pros

I started working for Enhance when the company was still very small. I joined initially as a telesales exec, and over the two years or so that I worked here I rocketed from an entry level position to running several large accounts. I left as I was moving to London and commuting back to town would make no sense. I wanted to leave a review from my perspective as I think it will provide some contrast. At the end of the day, this experience has allowed me to build a decent career for myself in London that would simply have not been possible if it weren't for my time here. The big pro for me is that EM offer a true "sink or swim" opportunity for anyone with a brain who can handle pressure. There is no local equivalent outside of London, full stop. They will take a graduate, see what interests them, see what sort of work they produce, and in a very short period that person will (if they perform well) be given the reigns over some pretty big tasks and contribute massively to key service lines. If you can't deliver, or can't handle pressure, then you will feel it. There are no employers anywhere local that will give you such an opportunity for accelerated career development. If you CAN handle pressure and work to deadlines, then you will find salaries blow everything out of the water, and the sky really will become the limit of where you can go. I went from £7 an hour to 30 grand a year in about 18 months. The work was pretty high pressure, and the ability to improvise, roll with the punches, and think outside the box was tested. There were some late nights at the office. There were some stressful meetings. But that's business, and anywhere where you are intimately involved in make-or-break projects this going to be the same :) When I moved to London to work at a big agency, the levels of stress were exactly as they were before, and even now, at my current place, I have had to pull plenty of late nights. Whats crazy is that my salary has barely improved since I left the company. I know I would be earning far more if I had stayed. If you are ambitious and want to make a serious career in this industry this is THE best opportunity going in the Woking area. Also, nights out were generally hilarious The MD is generous on the drinks, and you can expect your mates to be looked after as well. Really good to blow off steam at the end of the week.

Cons

For me, the biggest negative was ideas not being taken on board by senior management. As the company transitioned to the MD being more hands off this became less of an issue as my autonomy grew.

Thank you for your comments. I am delighted that you had a positive experience working at Enhance Media. We offer a great opportunity for anyone who is intelligent and keen to get ahead and I’m delighted to say we have many real examples to prove this. The late nights have stopped since we have implemented a new project management system which ensures we work as effectively and efficiently as possible, without the need for overtime. It has also reduced pressure on the team allowing them to plan and forecast workload in advance and identify when we need more support. I wish you every success in your career.

Pros

The team are fantastic, everyone get's along and there is great support in place. Their processes and ways of working are genuinely brilliant and above the standard of other agencies. You will learn so much working here and regular socials mean it really does feel like a family. The owner is a nice guy too and does a great job to keep business flowing and everyone happy.

Cons

This is more a factor of agency life, but because they have such set ways of working, it means you won't necessarily be prepared to jump into the same level role elsewhere. We hired people as seniors that ended up being junior by our standards, and likewise many mid or even senior level staff at Enhance Media would be considered junior-mid elsewhere. When I left I found I lacked many skills that would usually be done by someone in my role because they were either not required for recruitment or done by another department.

Pros

- A lot of the directors are very open to being unofficial "mentors" which is nice. - Good support systems in place - Good training tracks in place - Well-known and established clients - Strong and regimented processes - Good development - Inspiring Managing Director who is very good at "rousing the troops" - Monthly updates are beloved within the company due to the MD's speeches - Strong and young leadership team - Transparent service areas - Great xmas socials - Remote and hybrid working

Cons

- Lower than market pay rate and lack of pay reviews for PPC team, especially PPC management and team leads, despite the amount of work that has to be done quickly and to a very high quality. - Web dev team need a proper manager in place who understands web dev and has enough time to actually support and manage the team. They always looked too busy and burned out. - Lack of understanding around neurodiversity and burnout (burnout caused by the workload and constant deep work). This combination will be confused with other mental health issues and so will be incorrectly developed/supported on. - Misunderstanding of the symptoms and eventual reactions from burnout (anger, frustration, irritation, feeling down etc). Rather than trying to fix/help the reaction, prevent burnout in the first place. - Some types of development from senior management felt like you're being tested/prodded/poked in order to build "resilience" and/or create "boundaries". While the intent is to help, it actually has the opposite effect for certain types of people, especially if they're burned out. Try explaining what resilience is, why resilience is needed, how to build it and perhaps do a 1:1 role play for this and for boundary building. That way you're helping the person to walk themselves through it, rather than leaving things open to interpretation.
