Pros

Working with colleagues who are also interested in the arts. Actors, performers. I personally enjoy working with people and interacting with customers who are usually well behaved and polite.

Cons

Some tasks asked of you can be seen to be degrading

Pros

Double pay Sundays (for BO only, but under just above London minimum wage)

Cons

Where to start?! Management as most reviews already pointed out is AWFUL and incompetent. Which on the flip side sometimes means that you can do whatever you want because they genuinely don’t care neither are never in. The BO manager takes constantly “impromptu days off” when there’s conflict, because she’s a 60 something year old woman that doesn’t want to deal with anything and hides at home like a child. - There was a situation of sexual harassment going on, with so much evidence, videos, witnesses, cctv, messages, etc… they were doing NOTHING. They simply don’t care. The BO manager only decided to take action when she saw her daughter(that used to work there) talking to the creep that was doing all of this. It took them 10 months to take action.. HR was a DISASTER as well as per usual and did not follow procedures. - Your safety will never be a priority to them. They simply don’t care -foh is worse than BO in that sense though, but still terrible. - the pay is embarrassing and management as they are never there, they put all their work on the supervisors or BO assistants to do it for them. It took us ages to get a pound raise (lol) and it’s still the worst paid box office in the whole west end, for so much work, that you certainly don’t do at other theatres. - HR is TERRIBLE, they never have a clue of what’s going on, and you will ALWAYS be underpaid, always. It also takes them ages to sort it out. - if BO managers can discount money from your pay check with silly excuses without telling you, they 100% will
