Pros

You'll see quite a few negative reviews of England Logistics. They should all be put to rest. You might read that they work you to the ground like slave drivers. You might hear that management doesn't promote their own or listen to the people under them. It's all malarkey. England Logistics is a great company. The negative reviews you might read are just a reflection of the people writing them than they are of the company. What you have are angry, bitter, bad-tempered, lazy employees who don't have anything better to do than complain and expect the world on a silver spoon. England Logistics is filled with people who work hard and play hard. If you come to England with a bad attitude or expecting a handout you may as well look elsewhere. When you're at work, you're expected to work. Those that put in the effort usually stay for years and have a long and prosperous career here. As I look around the company I see hard-working, good-attitude people promoting like crazy. I've had two promotions in the last year alone. Middle management is 100% concerned with helping their teams grow. I see managers happily jump in the trenches with their employees to get the job done. They're willing to help any way they can. Upper management is constantly looking for ways to move the company and reward hard work. Transparency is a huge pillar in the company. Every week we meet as a company to discuss the company's performance. There is no doubt that this is a company that is growing and will only continue to grow. I would guess that the company will probably double in size in the next few years. All of that growth means promotion opportunities. The company regularly hosts events for the whole family. Every year we have BBQs, picnics, hikes, ski night, casino night, a day at Boondocks, Real Salt Lake soccer games, service opportunities. Every summer they sponsor an entire week of "Olympics" for employees to go outside to compete in dodge-ball, wiffle-ball, 3-point shootout, etc. They're always doing the little things that make you feel appreciated. Several people have commented that employees don't appear to be happy when they're at work. Haven't you ever heard to not judge a book by it's cover? I might not look happy when I'm at work. I'm too busy being awesome to worry about whether or not I "appear" to be happy. If you know how to work hard and have a great attitude, come work for England Logistics. You'll love it.

Cons

Health insurance is pretty expensive. I'm pretty sure that England Logistics combines with C.R. England for health benefits which means that we're pooled with a bunch of truck drivers who don't typically have great health. The first year at EL is tough as far as vacation goes because you only get 5 days of PTO during your first year. PTO doubles in your second year though. Once you're past year 1, vacation is pretty much the same as anywhere else.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, we are attached to CR England and they are working on cost containment, just as we are. However, in evaluating benefits we have found that we have a higher utilization rate than the rest of CRE because of all of our young families at EL. Because of this reality we are working with CRE to find more creative ways to help us all contain costs and become more competitive in our out of pocket benefits costs. Thank you again for the feedback!

The role comes with high performance expectations, constant problem-solving, and the challenge of managing issues outside of your control, which can create a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment.
