Pros

Decent pay for the area. Time off was decent. I really liked the guys I worked with.

Cons

Manager was all over the place. mixed messages on a daily basis. "you gotta make 100 cals per day" or the famous: "you gotta increase your call times" When 85% of the rest of the account managers barley break 50 calls. It is a Frat out in Salt Lake, and if your not in it, you'll fail. Word to the wise: The product your selling is flawed, and your in a very competitive market. Selling fuel discount cards to truckers sounds like it wouldn't be bad, but consider this: when 90% of those guys are leveraged to the point of a sub 600 credit score and the bank underwriting those discount cards only takes 630 and above? add into that the fact that your on the low end of the cents per gallon discount, and your competitors are offering in most cases .30 cents more per gallon? So. Multiply that by the ramp goals you must reach in this job to keep your "job". It's damn near unattainable. You end up spinning your wheels just to stay employed. It also doesn't help things when your manager keeps giving you mixed messages, when all you need is help getting accounts. I sat and spun my wheels until they PIP'd me and even then he promised to help me. Never happened. He sat and gambled on his phone and watched ESPN all day while doing rah rah crap designed to suck time out of the day for "accountability". I'd stay away unless desperate.

The role comes with high performance expectations, constant problem-solving, and the challenge of managing issues outside of your control, which can create a fast-paced and sometimes stressful work environment.
