Pros

No such thing as a boring day! At Engine Room, I’ve had the opportunity to wear multiple hats and solve problems I haven’t encountered before. Having previously worked in large corporations, it has been a refreshing change to experience the excitement and challenges in a startup environment. Opportunities to hone your skills I’ve had a steep learning curve here with regard to developing my business and personal skills on a daily basis, be it managing tough clients, tight deadlines or limited resources. I also have opportunities (and am encouraged) to improve my technical skills through seminars/conferences/online resources based on my interests. Trustworthy coworkers It’s not always possible to refer to your coworkers as your friends. Here at Engine Room, however, we are a small but close knit group, who support each other both in and outside of work. Talented developers We have a group of talented and hardworking developers, who upgrade their skills very quickly through projects that force them to be creative and resourceful with their time and efforts.

Pros

Management understands and embraces that every success story is a narrative of constant adaptation, revision and change. Overall lack of egotism and rigid process allows the Team to remain nimble while creatively solving problems for our Clients. Every day presents new challenges to the Team; the bigger the ask the greater the opportunity to grow together by being a part of the solution!

Cons

Small size of the Team means that -at times- employees need to advocate for Senior-level/Managerial support when challenges or roadblocks present themselves. Accessibility to our internal knowledge base should not hinder the Team’s productivity and as such, employees should feel empowered to solicit the support they require.
