Pros

I joined Engaged Prospect when there were only 5 reps on the sales floor and from the very beginning the door to management was always open. During my very first week I hit a major stumbling block that would have derailed by career at most companies but instead Dan Hersh and Sam Stein made sure I had all of the support I needed to not only make it through a challenging time but go on to thrive in a culture that values independence and creative thinking. The door to management is always open and I have always felt comfortable bringing them any worries or concerns. Because of this open dialogue and the training and support I received I was able to rise through the company from a sales rep to Director of Sales Operations. As a woman, I don’t share the concerns expressed in other reviews on this site. While it’s true that women are still the minority in the sales world, I am proud to say we represent 50% of the current leadership. I have never been held back by being a working Mom - I was always encouraged to work from home if I needed to tend to a sick kid or school was cancelled for the day. One snow day happened to coincide with a company wide training I was running and I had to bring my then three year old to the office with me. She quickly got bored listening to me talking about sales analytics and as I was desperately trying to quiet her down the Executive Vice President took her outside and the two of them spent the next half hour pretending to be cheetahs so I could finish my meeting. The company has grown a lot since my first days here and we have faced our share of growing pains but the door to management never closed. If anything, the addition of the Operations and Sales Training departments have provided more support for sales reps to succeed. New opportunities are constantly in the pipeline and Engaged Prospect is a great place for any independent minded sales person to do well.

Cons

The company is still evolving. New opportunities require the ability to process information and pivot quickly. People that thrive on repetition and need to be constantly managed should look elsewhere - this is definitely an environment that requires independence and decision making skills. Basic tech skills are also a requirement - spreadsheets, navigating CRMs and Sales Enablement tools, etc. Training is provided but I wouldn’t recommend this position for someone without rudimentary computer skills.

paid holidays, occasional paid lunches, free parking, great location

Cons

This was my true and honest experience that needs to be shared with others: Engaged Prospect has an extremely high employee turn-over rate. During my tenure with the company, we lost around 12 employees. Keep in mind, the most employees this company has at a time is usually around 20, so this is a relatively high turn-over rate. Most employees do not last more than 6 months, with the exception of about 4 employees. They are constantly interviewing and hiring because the door is always revolving. The company culture is extremely toxic. Management will belittle you and make you feel inadequate. Employees are friendly for the most part, but there is always a tension in the air because everyone is miserable. I could go on and on about how unbelievably toxic my experience was at this company, but I'll save you the time. Ignore the reviews that say they are good, these are from the very few employees that have lasted. Simply said, do not waste your time, talents, skills, and energy on this company. Seek other options unless you need temporary employment and don't mind being on sales calls all day like a telemarketer.
