Pros
It was good once upon a time. There used to be good people who worked in and there used to be real people who were passionate about the customer.
Cons
Leaving was the best thing I ever did. As a senior person in the retail group, I was disgusted at how poorly the latest restructuring was managed. I have no qualms saying that the new, 'all women leadership' design is flawed creating a catty, dysfunctional, game led environment that is driven at the helm by a narcissistic woman who has obviously climbed the ladder with her puffed out chest and act of self proclaimed genius, seemingly brainwashing her underlings by making them question their very own intelligence and importance. That's how the game is played at EA now, thanks to this person. An example of the lack of care was the scoffing 'are you ok day', a day of recognising mental health, this person who should care about the welfare of her staff couldn't have cared less to recognise or ask the question, which is amazing given the astonishing transformation we were agonising through. From a functional perspective, the fact that a simple campaign cannot make it out the door by appointing inefficient agencies and creating infighting by making staff feel they have to step on one another to prove their worth is beyond understanding. Staff personal growth is laughable. What opportunities? You call for twice yearly reviews and then set people up to fail with no support or recognition for progress because the game is already rigged by who's liked and who is not. Additionally the internal systems, I mean you're making staff operate on something like Windows XP. Try leaving a company that's so very far behind and then see how much more difficult it is when you move on to an office with the latest equipment and programs. As a very emotionally intelligent person who respects and values teams and individuals I liken this company to a disease that has spread to affect everyone at the core and in the mind. No one should ever feel like they need to question their value or go through the lack of support and systems myself and many, many others report after working here. I know many people who feel that they have something similar to post traumatic stress because of the negative environment. Congratulations EA on an amazing transformation... while the marketing team is still sitting there trying to tell the world WHY EA.
