Pros

Energy Muse is a rapidly growing company that provides a positive work environment and an empowering team of people to work amongst. The leaps and strides they've made throughout the last couple years is truly inspiring. They always stay true to their core values - to teach and empower people to help themselves - and they deeply care about the wellbeing of their employees and customers. The founders, Heather and Timmi, are kindhearted and empowering - they're wonderful to work for. As a small company, it is a very collaborative environment where you always feel as if you're being heard and your opinion matters. Since they're continuing to grow and evolve, you're constantly growing and learning new things as the needs of the company change. It's never a dull day in the office. If you want to feel part of a company that is working to make a difference and change in the world, Energy Muse would be a great fit for you.

Cons

As any growing company and small business, there are always "aches and pains" associated with that. But they're constantly working towards solutions and ways to better the company and shift anything that isn't working.

Terrible company that does not care about its employees or customers. Throughout my duration of employment, customers were made fun of behind their backs, questions were treated as jokes, calls were dodged by associates repeatedly, and the store associates were very reluctant to offer any returns or exchanges on products without being pestered. Negative reviews regarding store policies or product by customers are frequently deleted in order to preserve their image. All materials used for the jewelry is not "top quality" as they brag about (and charge top dollar for). The strings are very weak and break quite frequently, and you'll get more emails and calls about restringing and repairing pieces than you will ever get for sales. Job duties were not precise and clear, as it was a "you'll do pretty much everything you are supposed to do and other people's jobs because they can't finish them." environment. There is no adequate training process and you more or less have to wing it. If you're failing in your position in any way, they'll give you responses such as "You messed this up, but no big deal, just remember that everyone messes up." And if they hold a performance meeting, they don't notify you that your job is potentially in jeopardy. They treat it as a well-being check and ask if you're okay, or you're happy there. Constructive feedback from management is unclear at best, nonexistent at worst. The laid back environment Energy Muse tries to create is not at all conducive to a productive work environment. You will not receive medical benefits, even as a full-time employee. Instead, you will receive a measly "medical reimbursement" amounting to $23.08. They will fight you to the teeth regarding unemployment, if you are terminated for any reason (and believe me, they won't give you one at all, but they'll definitely espouse all of your negative qualities that you were unaware of to the Employment Development Department should you attempt to file.) Energy Muse's vast disorganization within the company is problematic. Files are haphazardly kept, there is often duplicated customer entries in their database that can make tracking down a customer's information rather difficult, and because of the lax attitude toward the entire business process, as an employee you are more or less expected to keep track of everything by creating your own records and figuring it out for yourself.
