Decent base salary at Analyst and Associate levels. Camaraderie among juniors, although the team spirit took a hit (if not gone completely) with the departure of key people and hasty replacements. Reasonable steppingstone for a junior analyst to get 1-2 years of experience before finally escaping to a decent firm.
Cons
EIP is a fast track to burnout. Expect a relentless, sweatshop-like environment, similar to any M&A grind (endless slide decks, post-midnight hours, and weekend work), with low bonuses—even in good years—and mid and top management lacking basic competences. The place thrives on office politics, where people mask their ineptitude with flattery. Staff turnover is alarmingly high, and for good reason—EIP offers one of the worst working environments in Switzerland. Expect no recognition, no team spirit, micromanagement, ongoing discomfort with the firm’s practices, no carried interest (regardless of your seniority) and layoffs involving your friends. Despite claiming to be a long-term oriented company, everything is done with a short-term vision, which makes me question EIP's long-term viability. No great career story is likely to come from here, Strongly advise against joining.
