Pros
Ideal for juniors ready to give up every waking hour. If you want to move up the ladder and get your hands dirty in all areas of IT there's some opportunity from what I remember. However the more structured approach now means you could get pigeon holed in one area. Consistently go the extra mile and you'll progress eventually (I'm talking years). * Pension scheme * Healthcare
Cons
I found you have to give your heart, soul and then some to be considered for promotion (..and in some cases, it's a requirement for keeping your job). Those who come in on time and leave on time (in accordance with their employment contract) are considered 'clock watchers' and are frowned upon or let go. If not directly then indirectly (passive aggressive) so they'll leave. Terrible blame game mentality and superiority complexes around the office. It's all about who reports to who. For a tech company there are very few good techs. It's all managers, project managers, accountants and sales people. Customer management is terrible and Level 1 Support are 1st in the firing line to get it in the ear from customers who haven't had their queries responded to. Management are real penny pinchers and will scrimp / cut corners wherever possible (Including not paying you for 12 hours days when you're supposed to be working 8)
