The company's mindset is stuck at least 10 years in the past. They are very slow to adopt new technology, and they are absolutely not prepared for a disruptive actor or technology to enter their markets. If you are not 'connected' within the company, opportunities for advancement are very slim. (I was 'connected' so this didn't affect me - but I saw what happened to people that weren't 'connected')
