Pros

Used to be a great place to work. The people (depending on your office) are sharp and fun to be around.

Cons

Ever since PE money became involved, things went downhill. Subtly at first, with budgetary cuts, etc., then a nose dive when they began laying off people left and right. It was sad and bad enough when it was happening to back office / non-revenue generating folks, but when they started laying off consultants after stating that had “never even crossed” their minds, that’s when I knew they were like any other lame excuse for a job. Don’t get me started on the rebrand joke. What a waste of money… and it cost people their jobs. The C team should’ve been who had to suffer those consequences.

Pros

Great group or core people who still remain at the firm. Competitive pay and amazing benefits.

Cons

Everything that was good about Embark (mainly the core group of Embarkers from the beginning) have left the firm. The C-Suite doesn’t know the business or its people. Our new CEO is in way over his head. He has no knowledge of the professional services industry. He relies heavily on the people around him to make up for his shortcomings and relies heavily on his ability to memorize a script. Scary times.
