Pros
My management and supers were awesome. Helped me get into a great learning path and really gave me a realistic path to work my way up but this was all prior to the merger.
The pay was alright given my position and the hours were good.
Culture was awesome. Keyword: WAS.
Cons
They care about their bottom dollar way too much. In turn, they put safety standards and working standards at the bottom of their to do list.
They rather have high turnover rate and continue hiring idiots as opposed to hiring competent staff and doing proper training. They just let a bunch of idiots run a muck and cost the job and company huge amounts of losses. I was at a site where this was such a huge issue, the people they hired I believed totaled 3 pieces of heavy machinery in the 3 months we were there. When we asked for proper safety equipment and asked to stay protected from the elements, they ripped my foreman a new one for getting us all the proper stuff after they've denied it multiple times. It's insane.
