Pros

Tuition reimbursement, benefits were outstanding and fridays off in the summer were wonderful.

Cons

No one gets fired for the most part in these union environments so the staff are crabby, territorial and set in their ways. People talk very harshly to each other and I felt like I worked with a lot of instability. It seems like no matter what the situation if you confront this behavior it will just get turned on you. Better to talk to no one and keep your head down....which is sad, not really my dream work environment.

Pros

Working at Elgin Community College was a very rewarding experience. I felt welcomed, valued, and supported from the beginning. The work environment was positive, collaborative, and respectful, and my supervisors consistently encouraged my professional growth. I had the opportunity to work with students and colleagues from many different cultural backgrounds, which helped me develop strong communication and intercultural skills. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the job was the sense of belonging within the team. My coworkers were always willing to help, and I felt that my contributions were appreciated. The international environment also allowed me to build meaningful connections with people from around the world. The experience taught me the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and cultural awareness. I would highly recommend Elgin Community College to anyone seeking a supportive workplace with a strong sense of community.

Cons

I honestly do not have any bad reviews for ECC. I genuinely loved my time there.
