Pros

The Pro is the same as the Con, which is that Pharmacy PA Ops is transparently the most corrupt and racist dept in Anthem. They barely hide it.

Cons

Over the course of several years, the head of the Pharmacy PA Ops has cultivated some of the most toxic behaviors imaginable so that she can maintain an iron grip on her position all while concealing any blame for her decision making. She does this by racially stacking the deck with her cronies, who are mostly white women and by encouraging a toxic culture of throwing usually non-white employees under the bus. Most of her cronies act like self entitled “Karens” who misrepresent and lie all the time in order to make sure they are never to blame for the problems of the department and they protect each other so that no blame from C-level executives is ever cast on them. As a result of the rampant and toxic cronyism that is dangerously thriving at the PA Ops department, the department is dangerously non-compliant and habitually dysfunctional as there is no clear line of accountability. In most companies, leaders like this would be fired on the spot as there could no patience for any potential harm to shareholders, patients and employees in general. However at Anthem, as long as you surround yourself with your own tribe of people and keep a tight rope on your cronies, you can pretty much get away with anything. In general, the top cronies at the Pharmacy PA Ops openly act like a basket of deplorables all while mocking employees about the importance of company values through “Culture Conversations.”

Cons

Pay rate never really goes up. Prefer to promote inexperience outsiders than from within. Low pay At the whim of Manager Favoritism Political Pretentious Metrics based of friendship with Management Hard to move up of you don’t suck up to a Manager or be political or be part of their click and group. QIP is also at the whim of the manager. Faulty metrics where you are blamed for FCR failures even when you fixed the issue on your first call and but because the member called in multiple times to other associates who didn’t help. Or do their job, they blame you for first call resolution when you never talked to the member till you resolved it. This is really messed up and it affects your QIP.
