My employment alongside Element Events was brief, challenging and mostly wonderful! I had a chance to work for the company last summer after graduation. I have had the chance to work in many environments. As a musician and an artist, I wanted to ensure any career I pursue offers me the flexibility to follow my personal passions. Carlton was more than accommodating, even offering to finance the travel for one of my shows. I gained invaluable experience, gained confidence, negotiation skills and made some brilliant friends/work colleagues. Financially I was able to hit all the targets set and achieve well above what I was earning in hospitality. I only left as I was signed to a label for my music. This position undoubtedly helped me in my auditions.
Cons
It’s very mentally taxing as you’re dealing with a lot of rejection, equally it’s something I was used to through the music industry.
