Pros

Meetings only when necessary! This means instead of talking about getting work done, you actually have time to get work done! Great co-workers and relatively laid back atmosphere. Relatively well-oiled machine with only the occasional fire to put out. Excellent work-life balance, competitive pay and decent benefits. Never laid a single person off when the economy has soured. Strong trust in the owners, great humble human beings that look out for their employees.

Cons

Limited support (in manpower and machine time) for troubleshooting / improvement efforts due to lean workforce and high through-put. Leadership in day-to-day activities works well within each department but leadership and oversight on long-term goals is lacking at times. Limited opportunities for training, etc. Every company has a person or two that is difficult to deal with. But the overwhelming majority are a pleasure to work with.

Pros

Excellent Pay (higher than the average for the area), easy work life balance, decent benefits, they truly care for employees who care for the company. I really liked the fact that it wasn't a publicly traded organization, so the company wasn't under constant scrutiny from a Board of Directors. 99% of the people there are GOOD people, so if enjoying who you work WITH is important, this is a great environment.

Cons

Takes forever to accrue vacation time, lack of flexibility w/ schedules, dated management practices, resistant to change. Management has a reputation of a "good old boys club", and they've earned it. Most of the management team is likely on their way out, but I don't believe they've laid the ground work to attract the right kind of talent that can help the company grow and evolve. In many cases, the company felt really stuck back in 1976, when they originally opened the Boscawen location.
