Pros

I have worked for Electrosonic for 20 years and have held a variety of positions. The best part about working here is the people. Everyone is collaborative and has a show must go on attitude. Having a positive attitude and a willingness to look outside the box or approach change with a mind toward how to make it succeed, is the best way to advance here. The work is challenging because we do projects that have opening day deadlines which can translate to long hours. But the projects we do are unique and create unforgettable experiences. I have been fortunate that as the company has changed and evolved over time I have always been given a path to stay and adjust. I have learned so much in the last 20 years, and there is always something new and interesting to experience.

Cons

The company has been around for 60 years, and they have been able to survive tough times, but it often comes with staffing cuts and readjustments. I have not always agreed with the changes or the staff that has been let go. In the past the management has not always been successful at creating a positive environment, but things are improving especially on the project operations side.

Pros

- It’s no secret that Electrosonic does the coolest jobs in the AV industry. - Jobsites are often clean, granted… there is heavy construction too. PPE is always given when requested. Brand new. - Talented and enthusiastic co-workers. - If you are having a problem on site, wether it be a client, other trades, or even a coworker..IT WILL BE DEALT WITH. Don’t ask for help if you are going to regret it. - Travel to some incredible places around the USA and sometimes international - Hotel accommodations are alway decent. Sometimes even stellar. No motels. Ever - Training is paid for or reimbursed. - Downtime is paid. Many shops will bench you if work is slow, ESI will encourage you to complete training on downtime. - There is plenty of room for promotions and growth, as long as you are willing to be vocal. Your work speaks for itself, but you still need to follow up.

Cons

- As with any non-union shop, you have to negotiate your rate when you sign on. Set a goal/range and stick to it. The raises take a while, but they do come. Be patient or vocal. - Couple of years ago they changed from GSA rate per diem to a flat 65 when traveling domestically. Very disappointing. - Health benefits are not great, and very expensive if selecting a family plan. If you are flying solo or can stay on your spouses insurance, you should be okay.
