Pros
This is a small US based company whose headquarters is in Germany. Being small, management is quite responsive and fast moving. Your voice is easily heard and you can have a strong influence over company direction. Pay and benefit package is comparative to other tech companies where I previously worked. Working hours are flexible and offers the opportunity to work virtual on occasion. All training is 1:1 using web meetings with subject matter experts in Florida and Germany. Facilities are bright and open with individual offices for most employees. Parking is not an issue. Work associates are pleasant to deal with and occasional Friday lunches offer an opportunity to socialize. Elatec is a global company with customers all over the world. This presents an opportunity to interact with people of different languages and cultures who live in a broad range of geography and time zones.
Cons
Because this is a small company things can get intense and perhaps overwhelming when dealing with multiple customers simultaneously but the activity is energizing and leaves you with a sense of satisfaction. Management style uses weekly status and feedback sessions. Unless you are self-motivated and can work independently you might feel a bit lost, as there is no hourly micromanagement here. Some overnight USA travel to trade shows is required but those dates are known well enough in advance to arrange for day care if needed. Possible travel to Germany may be offered so a current passport may be needed. Relocation may be needed if you are not a local resident but Palm City is a nice place to live.
