Pros
Great culture, they make efforts to show they care about all personnel in the field and office. Opportunity to work on a variety of projects and locations, and with several different Project Managers. Nice new company trucks. Low Turnover observed.
Cons
Excessive travel. There are several projects near where superintendents are home based and within their skill and experience, but supers are assigned to projects sometimes across the country without consideration. This is partially discussed in the hiring process, but it seems like more thought could be put into the assignment process - there is little input sought from the supers here. Total compensation - Salary tends to be below market universally, made up with the promise of company ownership that is slow to come. Per diem is well below market. Superintendent feedback seems to fall on deaf management ears - there is only one pipeline for feedback via the General Super and a lot of the feedback seems to die there. Occasional opportunity for feedback at twice yearly meetings, but dont seem to be taken seriously. Upper management will frequently override Project Manager decisions on projects, leading to over or under staffing certain projects with superintendents. Company does not seem to hire enough young superintendents to support and grow the future workers here.
