Pros

-Leading your own projects from start to finish. -Ability to source new clients. -Central London office.

Cons

-No work-life balance. 50/60+ hour weeks were common, and the pay did not reflect this. -Turnover was high (as in months), with a lot of inexperienced employees hired straight from university/PhD. A lot of people left within their probationary period or were mysteriously terminated. -On reflection all the classic red flags you can think of e.g. 'family', consistently long hours, lack of positive feedback, favouritism -I didn't enjoy the drinking cultural

Pros

Good office location, generally nice people to work with

Cons

Poorly resourced as very few people have enough experience and the workload is too high. Lots of people leaving too which just means further resourcing issues. Company is pretty inflexible about working location - have to be in the office 3 days a week, one of which has to be a Monday and the other two have to be pre-agreed (monitored) so you can't be flexible around your schedule. No real benefits beyond industry standard. Senior management fail to communicate properly with middle management and wider company and don't actively respond to feedback. Company is generally poorly managed with too many inexperienced employees to senior/manager ratios. Not enough training. Poor investment in employee professional development. Generally low salaries. Redundancies have been made with no warning and no real justifiable reasoning. Morale in company low and people are leaving on a weekly basis now.

Pros

Very friendly and supportive environment, especially at the beginning. The team was close knit and welcoming, which made it easy to settle in and collaborate well. The best part of my experience was the strong team culture and how engaged everyone was with each other

Cons

Management changes affected team dynamics over time. Increased focus on invoicing and outsourcing reduced engagement and changed the collaborative culture. Career progression and future prospects also became less clear over time.
