Pros
-Working closely with babies, kids and families -Gaining experience in education, outside of a school district -Somewhat flexible - you can schedule and pick your work and nonwork days -Employer paid healthcare coverage and other benefits like retirement
Cons
-Poor workplace culture in the student services dept. Very TOXIC and leaves you with a negative feeling -If you use legally entitled benefits like FMLA or sick leave, you will have a target on your back and be scrutinized about every thing you do. -Program supervisors and managers lack transparency. They cannot be trusted and talk negatively about staff in the office -Favoritism and biases throughout management and supervisors.
