Pros

This experience helped me identify red flags in co-founders, management style and work culture.

Cons

There is no such thing as annual performance review or yearly salary hike for all the employees. Over the years, the management has repeatedly got rid of employees for cost cutting by first pressuring them to resign or get terminated and get your career affected. (The HR and Co-founders are all into it together) They will burden you with work load of two people without a corresponding raise in your salary. The company pushes employees to invest in mutual funds through their app and pressures them to recruit family and friends for investment by calling you out in team channels in front of everyone. New hires are pressured to share positive experiences (approved by management) on LinkedIn and other platforms within the first six months and ones who refused are isolated ( I was asked multiple times to add posts in favor of the company and tag them and even share campaigns on my personal social media accounts) The work culture is very negative, with co-founders disregarding complaints and issues. I had raised a written complaint and the co-founders says "Its all in your head, nothing like this happens" and HR getting annoyed why I emailed co-founder about any issues at all. HR is manipulative and avoids written communication, preferring to close issues over the phone. (Beware of HR's sugar coated manipulation - they are puppets of the management) Project timelines are set by people who lack understanding of the actual time and resources needed. They don't even consult the team and create unrealistic expectations. I have personally know 2 employees who quit because of mental stress at workplace. Skill development programs lack funding - requiring employees to pay for certifications themselves - Yes - don't fall for their empty promises during interviews.

Pros

Ahmedabad Office is the office where you should choose to work if you want to still join the company, because there you can find good humans, who you would love to work with, till the time they are working at EduFund. The Founder (M) is open to listening to the ideas and can make you feel heard and welcomed initially.

Cons

The biggest con in the company is the HR disguised as a People and Culture Head. The HR lacks human empathy, transparency, ethics, and basic fundamentals of HR; the HR function is to work as a smooth function between the team and the senior management, not worsen the relationship by prioritising their own self-interests. Execution of ideas is painfully slow; it will pass through multiple layers of approval, get stuck, and rarely be implemented. The attrition rate is so high that, in my short tenure, more employees have exited the company (not removed, mind you) than the fresh joinees or those who even completed their full year. Compensation and appraisals are not performance-driven or skills-driven. Visibility and self promotion is more rewarded than actual output. If you know how to self-praise your work, even pressing the ENTER button will get more appreciation. Candidates are often promised a pay range during their interviews, then their compensation is lowered in the final round, even lower than the promised pay range, to "cut costs". The management wants you to work more, and it is rational if the work pays you well with the industry standard and more importantly, if your work is respected. Here, FEEDBACK IS ABUNDANT AND EASILY ON THE FOUNDER's LIPS, WHILE APPRECIATION IS SO HARD TO FIND, you just lose your motivation to go the extra mile. The company claims to be a tech-led startup, yet none of the original core tech team remains, which is a self explainer of how the company handles its talent. A few months back, the exits were too much, and the ratings here went so low that the founders had to pressure the employees to post fake good reviews to boost up the ratings. Do not even USE this company as a stepping stone for your career, because it will only demotivate you to keep working in the Startup space. There are many less successful but very well-managed startups with good culture out there.
