Pros
Structured apprenticeship programme, formulaic way of teaching English makes the teaching learning curve more manageable, tiers for teaching and non-teaching staff to progress, flexible OTOT working arrangement beyond classes, no-politics office culture, generally supportive colleagues
Cons
The apprenticeship programme (back in my time, at least) was quite rigorous and really demanded disciplined time management to submit assignments while still paying full attention in classes; classes on both Friday night and Saturday morning can take some getting use to; kanchiong students and parents given Singapore's education system
