Pros

One of the most noteworthy aspects of Edge Retreats is its commitment to transparent communication. The company underwent a recent change in management just before I joined, and it was evident that they were dedicated to improving the workplace environment for employees. Edge Retreats fosters an environment where employees feel comfortable voicing their opinions, raising concerns, and seeking guidance from their immediate superiors. This commitment is exemplified by their approachability and receptiveness to feedback, particularly from supervisors like my boss, Oli Corkhill. Whether it's regarding work-related challenges, career aspirations, or personal concerns, the open-door policy not only builds trust between employees and their supervisors but also ensures that issues are addressed promptly and effectively. Knowing that my boss is always willing to listen and support me has significantly contributed to my job satisfaction and overall well-being at Edge Retreats.

Cons

A personal challenge that I encountered was a lengthy commute to the office. However, the company had a very proactive approach to addressing this issue. They demonstrated a strong commitment to employee well-being by being incredibly flexible with remote working opportunities. This accommodation significantly mitigated the impact of the long commute, allowing me to maintain productivity and work-life balance while reducing the strain associated with daily travel.

Pros

- Fantastic CEO with an impressive record, with a clear vision and courage to take the business into the innovation direction in the luxury market - The challenge of working in a not-for-masses business, guided by luxury - Working for a company that wants to give back to society and is involved in charity actions - Be directly involved in meetings where transparency is the key, and where you'll get the business numbers communicated in a professional way, being given the KPI's and metrics that show how the business is materialising the vision and mission - Be part of team meetings where you'll always learn something new, either in technology, marketing, sales, supply, funding or overall business management - Modern technology stack, working with a very appealing architecture: AWS, Docker, Python/Django, Celery/Flower, React/Redux, PostgreSQL, Redis, Git, Jenkins, Prometheus, Sentry, Mailchimp, Zapier, Typeform, Mixpanel, GA, Segment (to name a few)... in process of introducing Kubernetes and migrating a monolith into a microserviced architecture using RESTful APIs.

Cons

- Fast pace startup environment, meaning you have to fit into that: so be ready to be in a situation where you have a great impact on the business and company growth, you have to be brave, collaborative and an ambassador of the brand.

Pros

Really struggling to find one

Cons

There were so many things wrong that just giving a list of few will detain any mentally same individual will stay far away from this company. Ceo is not able to trust anyone and it shows on a daily basis with her micromanaging attitude and pettiness. Wfh is not contemplated in an industry where people are actually working remotely full time. You need to be in the office. All the time Plunking holiday included Don’t worry in case you have to wfh for some reasons you have to leave your laptop camera ON for all your shift. Turnover in this company is bigger than my socks one. They have a fantastic products ( but they do rent the Villa on behalf of the clients from third party so they are just the middle man) so I wonder what type of customers service they offer to clients with such a big turnover. They also great mental damage and career one on the people that disgracefully decide to work for them. Nine years into the business and when convenient they said they are a start up and still looking for investors (which is the reason why the ceo is constantly on a bad mood). Who’s gonna invest in a sinking boat like this one?
