Pros

Strong mission—helping students have a voice makes the work feel meaningful. The engineering team is friendly, collaborative, and operates with a high level of trust. No micromanagement, lots of autonomy. Fast-paced but balanced—we work hard, but there’s room to joke around and recharge when needed. Leadership is transparent about company direction, and I’ve never felt blindsided by decisions.

Cons

The company is at a growth inflection point, and it’s still early to see how well we’ll adapt as more structure and layers are introduced. So far it’s going well, but it’s something to watch as we scale.

Pros

EdSights redifines culture in a big way. Not in a free lunch and ping pong sort of way, but in a way that focuses on what really matters. There's a high degree of accountability but also trust across the company, employees seem to genuinely enjoy working with each other, and their mission is far from fluff. It's a fun place to work hard and feels very genuine. Rigorous hiring has really paid off for them!

Cons

Not a con for me personally but if you need SOPs to function well at work then EdSights might not be for you. While EdSights has more resources available than the average startup, it's still a startup at the end of the day and you have to be comfortable with figuring things out as you go.
