Pros

- Visibility and ownership: working with a small team receiving new responsibilities quickly, and being assigned to different projects allow employees to have greater visibility of how their work fits into the larger direction of the company - Multidisciplinary work: getting to work with different teams such as hardware, software, production, etc.

Cons

- Small team means fewer opportunities for career growth, not much expansion beyond the current team - While role provides good learning opportunities, focus on hiring new grads mean a higher turnover rate

Pros

Ideal for entry-level engineers, especially as recent college graduates. The role offers hands-on experience and a strong foundation for professional growth. The team environment is welcoming and collaborative, with young, friendly colleagues who are eager to help and share knowledge. Training is provided by the team manager, peers, and even the CEO, who actively participates in mentoring and knowledge sharing. Beyond technical expertise, the role cultivates managerial and operational skills. As a project engineer, I take on multiple responsibilities including project management, sales, customer support, and logistics. Industry Exposure and Networking. Frequent participation in trade shows and customer meetings provides valuable exposure to industry professionals. These events offer excellent opportunities to build connections with executives such as VPs, directors, and managers from major companies.

Cons

The position requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to put in extra hours. It's a challenging role that demands dedication and resilience. The CEO maintains high standards and can be very candid when expectations aren't met. The feedback may be blunt at times.
