Pros

There is enormous opportunity to learn about all sides of the food industry, as well as Italian products and cuisine. Generally, staff members are passionate and curious. The staff discount is good too.

Cons

Wages are ridiculously low and upper management does not seem to appreciate that Eataly is no longer the hot ticket in town as it was when it opened years ago. People are no longer banging down your doors to work for you, and in fact the company has a reputation in the industry for its low wages and chaotic work environment. In order to remain competitive you must pay your staff more.

Pros

Decent community and work environment, huge team so you’ll definitely meet some interesting people. Good for gaining early experience in the restaurant industry

Cons

Volume is unpredictable and inconsistent, so you have to be prepared to either be in the weeds with minimal assistance from management or ready to idle for 3 hours with two walk-ins per hour and no reservations. And the tourists are exceptionally insufferable here
