I was recruited away from a job that I was at for nearly 3 years, only to be abruptly laid off 4 weeks later with no reason given. During the interview process, which I should have seen was riddled with red flags considering I was ghosted twice at the time of the interview and had to reschedule, I was told that the company tools and resources that they in fact didn't have, I was told they were in strong financial standing, and that they wanted me to build out their brokerage division which included hiring brokers to work under me that I would train and be responsible for. Two days into the job I was told by my boss to hold off on hiring anyone, and just focus on sales. I spoke with my boss about a week and a half later in a brief conversation which they abruptly ended to take another call. Those were the only two interactions I had with my boss, the CEO of the company, before he called me 4 weeks into the job and told me they were doing layoffs and that day was my last day working at the company, before again rushing off the phone before I could ask any questions. I should also note that I was reached out to by a second recruiter as well as a company employee trying to recruit me for the role I was already in for them while I was working there. This is yet another example of just how disorganized this company is.
