Pros
Working at EHS I bring home over double at what I would make in other early childhood centers. The staff/student ratio is 4:1, and you have a co-teacher. The main drawback is having a short summer break (two weeks compared to the full summer), but I get fall, spring, and Christmas breaks. Good support from administration and professional development opportunities abound. There is quite a bit more paperwork than the average “daycare teacher” job, as we have a curriculum and also do assessments on the children. Great work-life balance with a schedule from 7-3:30. I rarely take work home.
