Pros

Room to move around and explore other departments/roles, CEO & President are accessible, no strict budget in general, an easy way to get sales experience when you have none, unlimited PTO, no higher education/degree requirements, their increasing struggle to hire and retain employees can mean the ability to negotiate with a heavy hand. Note: They are preparing to go public.

Cons

A true "good 'ol boys" club, zero company culture, bring your own technology/laptop, untrustworthy leadership, an ungodly amount of internal emails, lackluster benefits, false promises (pro tip: demand stock, an annual evaluation and get it all in writing), little to no remote flexibility, a conservative, contradictory and condescending environment, no stable HR department or guidelines, no annual reviews unless you ask, no annual cost-of-living raise/consideration, lack of diversity, your best interest is constantly in question, CEO & President are too accessible, disrespectful behavior on conference calls, leadership just not showing up to scheduled calls, old-school mentality, leadership does not respect timelines or requests, unreliable product (hello, if that's not a red flag), laughable event/field marketing priorities, likelihood of picking up bad habits, too many unnecessary aspects funnel through the President: from office parking spots to the holiday party's playlist to trade show logistics to who mops the office floors...it's not sustainable or how a large company should be operating at this age; it's also a reflection of trust in employees. Moving on.... lacking and unreliable internal processes, nearly impossible to get stock options unless you're "in the club," Zoho is the CRM, favoritism, illogical penny-pinching tendencies, chaotic priorities, embarrassing chauvinism coming straight from the top, and unnecessary internal fire drills galore. There is a guarantee that you will be reporting to grossly underqualified men, in their position because they have just the right amount of backbone (ie: none) to never stand up for what is right, and continue to allow the company to be run senselessly. A noteworthy shining moment: A member of leadership was late to the Monday morning meeting. The conference room is consistently 90% male, with a table that sits 10+ with plenty of people already standing. As he enters, he asks the only woman of color to give up her seat... a fellow executive mind you, who was 100% qualified, deserving of the role, and amazing but likey hired to meet a metric advised to them as they prepare to go public, and was in her first month with the company.
