Pros

Worked as an online scoring professional for FIFTEEN years & every year there is less and less to like about it. I can't even state that going to work in my pjs is a pro anymore because the rest is sooooo bad.

Cons

THIS FOR ONLINE READER/SCORER First ETS thinks of you as an animal in a cage just waiting for their decision whether you work or not that week. Used to be ETS was excellent at pre-planning staffing needs so that everyone got 40 hours every week of the administration and the tests got scored. No more. I don't believe they have 4gotten how; they just don't care anymore. Hire lots and lots of readers, never have a shortage, and ETS is taken care of. Who cares if the animals schedule 40 hours on their little schedule, SET THOSE HOURS ASIDE OUT OF THEIR LIVING SCHEDULES, and only get 0-8 with only 24 hours notice when we cancel the days one at a time? Who cares? Well it sure ain't ETS. And they make certain it's 24 hrs cancel notice because the ETS contract states they have to pay you a little bit if the cancel notice is less. I have literally received cancel notices timed 1 minute before it would be considered less than 24 hours. Next, I'm expecting that to disappear out of the contract. BOTTOM LINE: If you enjoy being thought of as nothing but a thing, have absolutely no life so that you can keep your schedule arranged around ETS, while they really don't care, do not expect recognition for loyalty [15 years], or consideration of tenure [15 years] take this job. You'll absolutely love it!

Pros

Support of immediate management and coworkers makes coming to work every day a pleasure.

Cons

Where to start... First, the employee performance evaluation process and methodology has changed from 1) performance vs your job description to 2) OKRs which were completely unattainable and meaningless at every level to 3) rocks and outcomes which again have very little to do with the day to day jobs of most employees. It seems the burden for goals and objectives and performance management has shifted from management to employees as they try to define a methodology that holds only doers responsible for the company's success. All this since Amit Sevak took over. Management manipulated the questions in a recent employee survey to force responses that made it look like there was improvement year over year. Of course, when you add a new President between the employees and the CEO peoples opinion of senior management is improved. Of course when you shift the focus to immediate management from senior management, the responses will be improved. Try issuing the exact same survey as the prior year and see how much "real" improvement there was in the numbers.
