Pros

Having a manager who held the line in shedding light on structural racism, sexism, nepotism and actually believed me when I reported abusive work dynamics and unethical behavior.

Cons

Working at ETR was the most traumatizing work experience I have ever had. I reported unethical behavior my department Director was engaged in, to the CEO and HR, only to be gaslit and have no follow-through in holding the Director accountable. Many female employees, including myself, worked with male counterparts who received credit for the work we produced. There is an employee that everyone (from leadership to entry-level employees) knows as being unqualified and incompetent but is related to a senior leader, so he has been able to advance within the organization. This type of nepotism has become normalized at ETR by HR poorly justifying it through weak policies describing ETR as "A family-friendly place to work." I sincerely believed the CEO when she told me that she cared about women of color. The majority of individuals who have left due to the toxic work culture at ETR are women, and the majority are women of color. The CEO continues to blame the "great covid resignation" for these departures rather than addressing the abusive dynamics at every level of the organization. Please think again if you are considering this very performative organization!

Pros

ETR has been doing serious reflecting and implementing intentional changes and restructuring over the past couple of years to not only promote equity in our work but also across the company. I feel that leadership are genuinely interested in what staff have to say about how to improve equity, work-life balance, and overall wellbeing at ETR. They've also been responsive to feedback, including improving already wonderful and comprehensive benefits, supporting novel diverse strategic planning, and providing various and interesting ways to engage with colleagues outside of project work (a must when working remotely!). At ETR, I feel that I matter as a person, not just an employee, and I am encouraged to and supported in showing up as my whole self.

Cons

I don't have personal experience with this but have heard from colleagues that the promotion process can be a bit time consuming and some pathways are less clear than others.

Pros

Great location, good people in general

Cons

Some departments are terribly run, lots of micromanagement. It really depends which area you work in.
