Pros

I worked at Etherstack for 4 years and only left to study full time. I have nothing but good things to say about Etherstack and the people there. In my opinion the best thing about Eherstack is the close knit family attitude that everyone has. Everyone is working together for the common goal of making the business a successful leader in its industry. It was more than just about being in the office as we would go out and celebrate various occasions together like a Friday lunch at the pub or Melbourne Cup day celebrations paid for by David (CEO) himself. It was a fun and enjoyable place to work.

Cons

Being in the finance department I was across all the financials of the business. Like any business Etherstack did go through tough times which meant we did have endure a time of late pays and juggling of funds. This was never a concern for most as we knew that Etherstack would turn things around and rectify any outstanding monies owed. This has indeed been the case.

Pros

- Etherstack has offices all over the world, and customers all over the US and beyond. If you enjoy travelling, there's plenty of opportunity here. - Etherstack is constantly innovating, and creating new products. Don't get too comfortable with the project you're working on, you'll probably be working on a new one next quarter! - I'm disagreeing with another reviewer on this one. Because the company is so small and geographically dispersed, there is plenty of opportunity for job-diversification. An Etherstack employee will find themselves "wearing many hats." Developers don't just write code, they participate at every stage in the process. You'll participate in sales-proposals. You'll be deploying the product (both hardware and software!) on customer sites. You'll be providing direct post-sales customer support and training.

Cons

- Just like another reviewer mentions, the pace of innovation can mean that a lot of projects get only half done, or you have to drop what you're doing entirely to move onto whatever the current critical project is.

Pros

- Engineers are really knowledgeable and passionate about their trade and craft and are readily willing to teach you - Senior and principal engineers are always willing and available to teach you about proper design and code - Excellent medical benefits, vacation time

Cons

- Little time is afforded to go back to existing code and fix it up. Instead, emphasis is on getting out the next product for a customer. - Geographical sparseness of company offices makes arranging meetings very difficult at times
