Pros

The customers were fabulous, the artists were superb, the location was lovely.

Cons

There was an absolute lack of organization, leadership, or support from management/owner. The fact that the flagship location couldn't handle the number of orders and projects coming in should have been a red flag to management as to the owner. To then go and open not one, not two, but THREE new shops within an extremely short time put a strain on the team; all without addressing any of the issues that their employees had raised. It created an extremely toxic work environment.

Pros

This is a small team of highly creative women. Each person on our staff is talented and wonderful in her own way. The business owner is hard working and inspiring. The jewelry, artwork and home decor that we curate and sell is super cool and the Temescal neighborhood is awesome. The business is small and successful - I think it's going to keep growing and become more and more successful.

Cons

As the business grows so quickly, it's bound to experience some growing pains!

Pros

Commission opportunities are available Exposure to a creative industry and jewelry design

Cons

Toxic “mean girl” culture is encouraged (owner is a major contributor to this), gossip, cliques, and talking behind employees’ backs are the norm. Issues are never addressed directly. No proper training or tools provided to do the job (POS system issues, lack of pricing information, no clear process for removing inventory, etc.), yet staff is blamed when mistakes happen Very little support from managers, the owner, or their HR representative Pay is minimal, benefits are non-existent (no health insurance), and commission does not make up for the instability Leadership fails to establish boundaries or communicate respectfully, leading to high turnover and constant tension
