Pros

ERM is making earnest efforts to embed both sustainability and DE&I in real, meaningful ways, into the corporate culture. The change since 2019 has been noticeable, although much remains to be done. ERM has long been a place where employees get to interesting, occasionally innovative and exciting work, alongside great colleagues. This remains true, but less so due to ongoing departures of key staff in mid- and senior-level roles.

Cons

Quite frankly, the only thing that matters to this company is making money. Any and all other efforts (DE&I, sustainability, employee pay and benefits) are secondary, and are targeted to be *just enough* to keep us here. For a company well on its way to being a $1B/year entity, it's astounding how hard it is for them to pay their people what they deserve and to treat ALL of their people like human beings with agency, intelligence, and souls. We are not widgets. Even that would be OK if it was an acknowledged fact. But messaging from senior leadership is patronizing, inaccurate, and often directly contradicts what line staff experience on a day to day basis. This attitude has led to significant ongoing turnover of key mid- and senior-level staff, which further demoralizes those of us who are not in a position to move on. We are all overstressed, overly criticized, and unhappy.

Pros

Cool projects. Diversity of work

Cons

Basically every 15 minutes need to be billed to a client. If not you will be penalized even if they say you’re doing great.
