What really sets this company apart is the founder. He genuinely cares about the people who work here, and that’s not something you see every day. When COVID hit, instead of cutting jobs like a lot of companies did, he chose to keep the team together. It wasn’t easy, but it showed what kind of leader he is. There’s a real sense of purpose in the work they do. This isn’t just a business trying to make a quick buck. The mission feels real and it drives a lot of the decisions that are made here. Because it’s a startup, there’s a lot of room to grow and take ownership of your work. If you like being hands-on and making a difference, this is the kind of place where that’s possible. Your voice matters, and that’s empowering. The culture is honest and down-to-earth. No one’s pretending to be perfect. People are transparent, and that makes it easier to trust each other and feel like we’re all on the same team.

It’s still a young company, so there are growing pains. Some systems and processes are still being built or improved. That can be frustrating at times, especially if you’re coming from a more established place. Resources are limited, which means sometimes you have to stretch yourself or wait longer than you'd like for things to happen. You definitely need to be okay with figuring things out as you go. Work can get intense during certain periods. Startup life isn’t always balanced, so it helps if you’re the type of person who’s adaptable and can ride out the waves.

It’s remote and mostly your own hours

The company only cared about making money. They don’t actually care about servicemembers even though they claim to be all veterans. They just want you to convince the servicemembers to use their education benefit to do their online certification. These certifications cost maybe $200-300 to put people through. But they use the full $4000 of the servicemembers benefits for the fiscal year. There are other competitors that would actually offer 5-6 real industry certifications rather than 1 “useless” certification. They also claim to hire apprentices, they market this “apprenticeship” to thousands of people in the hope of them to sign up for the certification. They usually say this is a pre-step, only to take on a few apprentices. They also poach servicemembers by throwing six-figure salaries which are not true. My honest thoughts are that there is no mission or values here. During my time here, I didn’t help a single person find a job but helped so many get useless certifications by using their benefits money. Also, no one actually knows about technology here. They only know how to “talk tech”. If you ask them a real question about technology, they prob won’t know. They hire part-time instructors who are aren't good at teaching these certifications. If you are looking to break into tech, I recommend to use an accredited coding boot camp.
