Pros

The only pro that this company had to offer was hours.

Cons

The company has recently (2013) brought in a two tier system. One is union (which they are no longer hiring for) and non union. With being non union there is no pension. They are also giving non union guys priority for work and equipment. The non union guys are mostly apprentices with little to no experience. Experienced journeymen are leaving for other companies. The divide between the union and non union crew is very undesirable. Also, the sales department are not aggressive in finding new contracts. Union is Unifor but they say they can't help the current situation. Rumor was couple guys got fired because they did not want to work non union jobs.

Pros

Good insurance and retirement package. Plenty of work to be done; daily duties, and paperwork cleanup from previous months fill in the gaps during training!

Cons

Unstructured, frenzied training, with no feedback. Middle management is very cliquish. High turnover, low morale, lots of office gossip, not unusual. Ask for a documented list of job duties. Expected to take on the duties of the Office manager with compensation of ops admin. Disregard the OT portion of the offer letter, it won't be paid. Expect 12+ hour days with weekends spent checking endless email threads - required. Personal phones are required to have your ENTREC email added, which is monitored. Expected to spend your personal time after 12 hours in the office completing 20+ minute training modules before/ during your training period.
