Pros

The team-oriented culture fosters collaboration, and you can learn from experienced colleagues. The products and solutions EFCO offers are high-quality and well-respected in the construction industry. As a territory manager, I’ve experienced autonomy and control over my region, which is rewarding for those who are self-motivated. Competitive compensation package, including benefits and performance-based incentives in the form of commission.

Cons

Future growth and advancement opportunities are slim unless willing to move to Des Moines, Iowa. The job can be demanding, especially when managing client expectations and deadlines. Work-life balance may be challenging at times, particularly during the busy construction seasons. Processes and tools for internal systems could benefit from modernization to improve efficiency. EFCO provides training programs and resources to help employees succeed, but there's a lot of room for improvement. There could be big improvements in developing its team and offering ongoing learning opportunities. Pricing is difficult and requires a lot of internal battles. High turnover in engineering positions. Annual pay raises are disappointing.

EFCO Response

INNOVATION is a Core Value at EFCO, and the way we improve is with feedback like this. The details of the constructive feedback are very much in line with what we're working on. Business outlook: We've been profitable for each the 90 years we’ve been around, we're growing and profitable today, and we have plans for the next 90 years. Career advancement by moving: It's true mobility is very beneficial to our team members and those who have been most successful at EFCO have moved to seek career advancement opportunities. Disappointing pay raises: Sales positions are primarily paid commission, so raises are determined by the salesperson, not the company. Ongoing learning opportunities: This is being actively addressed, and in recent years it has often been the case that the company offers more learning opportunities than team members take advantage of. Modernizing internal systems: Salespeople at EFCO primarily use best-in-class Salesforce.com software. We have also recently implemented Dayforce and are progressive with our support of AI use. We are continuously updating.
