      Although EDB's Technology is good, it's is no match for the CSPs Market Prowess - Senior Account Executive EDB Employee Review

      Good product, great support, lots of talented people

      Cons

      Management didn't have a realistic response to the market presence of the CSPs (cloud service providers) like AWS, Azure, etc. They didn't listen to Dr. Stonebreaker's suggestions, they were slow to leverage AI, weak on analytics. They stopped supporting other CSPs Postgres clients which IMO was a miscalculation, since it gave them access to prospective clients they otherwise would not have access to, at least not as easily. Of all the things EDB needs, changing their logo shouldn't have been something they spent money on.

      Pros

      - Access to several great sales tools and platforms - Decent pay - EDB is well respected in the Postgres community - Working to innovate quickly

      Cons

      - Most of the leadership lacks technical data expertise which creates friction in the sales motions and positioning. - Currently a small total addressable market. EDB does not compete well with cloud competitors and primarily is geared towards on-prem Postgres in a market that continues to migrate to the cloud. - High turnover across the sales org. - Long, difficult sales motion accompanied by expectations for quick wins.
