Pros

Take home vehicle, gas card and schedule flexibility. New equipment is provided.

Cons

The pay is low no matter what job you are doing. Officers start at 8 - 8.50 unarmed, 9.50 or 11 per hour armed, depending on the site. FS is 12 and Ops is 14 per hour. (Based on a 40 hour week. These last two are salaried positions) There are other companies that pay better and have a better training program than these people do. They will breeze over the required State training, sometimes just printing out a certificate if the new hire has been through it within the past year. Firearms training is a joke. If you can hit the broad side of a barn at 3, 7 and 10 yards, you get qualified. They do the full 8 hour of classroom training first. If you have a good background with weapons, you will know what I am talking about if you go through their course.

Pros

The job itself was straightforward and the experience in the security field can be useful.

Cons

Communication and management accountability were major issues. I was suddenly told I was being let go, but the district manager said she could not discuss the reason and directed me to contact the home office. When I contacted them, they said they had no knowledge of the situation and told me to speak with the district manager. After months of confusion, I was eventually told my employment record listed me as “voluntarily quit for not showing up,” which was not accurate. I was also aware that immediate family members of management were working directly under the same supervisor, which raised concerns about fairness and transparency.
