Pros

Some pretty awesome people who work hard to deliver results for the mission. Paid holidays. Great building and location. Decent benefits.

Cons

Not enough cohesion in the leadership team which can't find traction. People who want to leave are begged/incentivized to stay. Leadership team guilt trips you if you want to walk away and pursue other opportunities. Some ego stroking of Matthew Kelly is elusive to the lower level people which conflicts with the societal observations he rants about in his books about how callous and superficial we've become in the world. Pretty sure the model of this place being a non-profit using a book publishing for-profit company run by the same guy is borderline illegal but so are most actions of non-profit organizations. Man-children are left as team leads when there's a turnover pattern in certain departments where they're the common denominator. Counts on volunteer labor of elderly people and minors like they're tight on money for raises/new hires but then gift officers brag about who's going to be first to bring $1 million in donations at monthly meetings. People stick around long enough until they find something more stable with a less volatile leadership model. This place has knowingly hired people who've relocated from all over the country when leadership knew layoffs were on the horizon. You're asked to pledge loyalty to the mission with little offered in return for your efforts. Despite the best intentions of the mid-lower level employees, can't help but think the place is another potential black eye for the Catholic Church since its materials are so ubiquitous in parishes.
