Pros

I never got denied PTO requests, lots of free t shirts?

Cons

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall since the acquisitions of Green Bits and Leaf Logix, cemented into place by the layoffs and restructuring that happened in June. Dutchie's leadership bit off more than they could chew and rather than being held accountable for putting the company in the place where it is now (save for Ross and Zach), the employees who have been keeping the company afloat while being whip-lashed by upper management's whims continue to get the cut so the old guard can do the same thing while keeping their big paychecks. Don't get me wrong, the co-founders have blame for the situation the company is in, but so does upper management who didn't listen to the hundreds of voices they let go while trying to help right the ship and keeping it afloat. The company proclaims a culture of quality while simultaneously laying off the entire QA team and shifting all testing responsibilities to engineers already overworked by layoffs and other teammates leaving. Quality Assistance may be a viable strategy, but not when you provide zero support or training to transition to that model. I think customers will unfortunately bear the brunt of this mistake as time goes on. Career growth has been stagnant for the past 6-9 months, I wouldn't expect that to change anytime soon with the new layoffs. Grow together? The double speak is mind blowing as folks are promised promotions and raises just to be let go a few weeks later while those left behind are told the company is flush with cash and in a great position. Don't let them trick you into thinking there's room to grow as they try to skate the thinnest ice to IPO. Overall, the outlook I had for the company was grim before I got cut, truly poor decision making and lack of accountability for said decisions. I'm honestly relieved that I don't need to pretend like everything is okay anymore. If you care about the cannabis industry, don't work for these vultures who are trying to plaster "what worked" in other spaces, destroying the culture that made Dutchie such a great place to work years ago. If you care about your career, don't work for this company that makes lofty promises and has yet to deliver this year to anybody. If you can plug your nose and play politics without caring about the industry you're working in or the way that your colleagues are treated, I hear they are still hiring after this third round of layoffs. Get it while you can!

Pros

Fun place to work, interesting field and nice new tech stack, great coworkers, leadership is not half bad, most diverse workplace I've ever been in.

Cons

The work life balance can be great at times and bad at others. It is very team dependent though. Your requirements shift quickly. Obsessed with AI and optimization.

Pros

From what I heard, it used to be a phenomenal culture, but I joined just a week or two after the first major round of layoffs. The hostile company takeover was soon to follow then many rounds of layoffs to come.

Cons

A couple of very large, public layoffs, but to later avoid press - the rest were weekly, but small enough to avoid public notice which meant they were never acknowledged even within the company. Working weekends and taking calls to your personal cell number at night for extra work is smiled upon. Company at a complete loss of direction and there seems to be no desire for actual data or for things to work. It's like they want more on paper to show investors or something - it's actually unbelievable how little the company now does while completely overworking everyone.
