Pros

Good Benefits Nice People Pretty much everyone in Lincoln thinks Duncan is a "great place to work"

Cons

People stay in their positions for so long, there is not much opportunity for growth or upward movement unless you can work on aircraft. Managers pick favorites and focus a lot of time and effort and budget to create opportunities for the select few while others fall to the wayside. There is a lot of animosity between various departments. Too many people have worked together for too long and there always seems to be some kind of problem between individuals or from the past the inhibits people from working effectively together to achieve a positive result for Duncan Aviation as a whole. All our systems are from the 1990s. We still use Green Screen (which I remember using to play Oregon Trail). They invest a bunch of money in programmers and IT to support this back asswards system that is rapidly becoming even more irrelevant than it already is and it can't adapt to current technology. Not to mention, it is primarily designed around supporting aircraft in-house. You have no idea how this focus inhibits other departments from growing and competing in a marketplace that is so much more technologically advanced than we will ever be. And there is lesser value placed on the efforts of other departments that don't work directly on aircraft because of course aircraft jobs = more money so in comparison, other departments efforts look small and subsequently there is never any investment made to help those departments grow or establish themselves as a relevant industry business. It is a hopelessly sexist environment. Like I've said, so many of the employees have worked at this company for decades, and aviation was a different culture 20, 30, 40 years ago. That kind of perception and treatment of women has carried through to today. Not to mention only 2% of the workforce is female.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are proud of our strong retention rate (92%) and strive to continually develop all of our team members to lead long and successful careers with Duncan Aviation. In fact, we allocate $4.5M a year toward training and development of our 2,200 team members. As an industry leader, we also regularly review and update our practices, policies, and technologies to ensure we remain competitive in this ever-evolving industry. It is true that the aviation industry is attractive to males; however, we have many female employees across all departments and in various position levels. Approximately 18% of our total workforce is female. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and every employment decision is made based on merit and not on gender, race or previous relationships. Any behavior to the contrary is unacceptable and does not adhere to our Core Values. If you have concerns about the treatment of certain groups in our organization, please reach out to me at Michael.Cox@DuncanAviation.com. Thank you again for your review and for your service with Duncan Aviation.

Pros

AMAZING company. The management, the staff, all the employees are just superb. This is the BEST company I have ever worked for in my whole life.

Cons

I wish I lived closer to the company. I live 45 minutes away and the commute is hard. The company doesn't have any cons. Maybe I wish they could offer more PTO, but they are actually comparable to most companies. I am originally from Italy, where receiving 4-6 weeks of PTO is normal, so my "cons" is really not fair to them. lol

Pros

I really miss the family feel my team had. I never felt left out and the other people from other departments were really nice as well. I was nervous moving from out of state to the internship, but mostly excited to work at a big company with amazing jets. It took me a bit to get the hang of things, but I never felt guilty to ask them questions since I was just an intern. The break rooms are great and have a lot of snacks plus meals that you can purchase (food vendors also come in almost everyday of the week). Bathrooms are always clean because the custodians are always on top of it. The hangars are spacious and most techs have their own toolbox. As an intern I only had a few tools, but they did have a "tool crib" where you can check out tools. The company had events that you could participate in for fun. Overall, I had an amazing experience working on a great avionics team and I regret leaving.

Cons

None that I can think of, I loved my experience there!
