Great environment for people who want to take an active role in the direction of their career, lots of opportunities to set your own course and participate in meaningful projects/committees. With the new agile development process, there's much more teamwork in the programming group, and more interesting projects. Most importantly, the entire team is dedicated to maintaining a respectful, positive work environment.

As a smaller privately held company, they aren't able to offer the highest salaries in the market, but they make up for that in a flexible work schedule, great benefits, lots of opportunities for growth/training, and a fun atmosphere.

The culture at DDS has changed significantly from when I first started. They encourage everyone to work smarter rather than, "just keep your head down and work harder." They would rather you try something new and learn from it rather than keep doing the same old thing that was "good enough" before. You are not alone at DDS. They encourage a very collaborative environment. If you are willing to put in the effort DDS is an extremely rewarding place to work. They have a great community of hard working employees that enjoy what they do. They also know how to have fun while still getting work done.

If you are expecting to pick up a book or manual to teach you everything you need to know to excel at your position this isn't the company for you. If you aren't comfortable with investigating solutions on your own then this isn't the company for you. If you are able to do the above you'll enjoy working here and do very well.
