Seasoned employees promoted to people leaders when they lack the skills to be effective and should stay as single contributors vs promoted to people leader. Some leaders white knuckle work instead of allowing people to grow and take on more tasks. There is a bad culture of insiders/outsiders. If you make friends with the right people you’ll always be invited to the table. Bad work/life balance under SOME leaders, others do really well in promoting a balanced life.

The management style is quite autocratic, and projects are often expected to be delivered single-handedly rather than through collaboration that plays to individual strengths.
